Alison qualified as a clinical psychologist with a M.Soc.Sci. (Clin. Psych.) (cum laude) from Rhodes University. She also has a diploma in Business Management from Damelin. She is registered with the Health Professions Council and the Board of Health Care Funders as a clinical psychologist and is a member of the Psychological Association of South Africa (PsySSA) and of Coaches and Mentors of South Africa (COMENSA). 

Alison has been practicing as a clinical psychologist since 2004, as an executive, leadership & life coach since 2007, as a facilitator and Deep Democracy practitioner since 2006, and as a Deep Democracy trainer since 2008. She has also lectured in psychology at the University of Cape Town, and has worked as a research psychologist with special interests in trauma, community psychology, organisational consultation, professional development, women in leadership and women’s mental health. She has previously worked as a personnel consultant and as a scriptwriter on prosocial projects such as Soul City. 

Alison is passionate about working with her clients to develop their potential for optimal health, productivity and fulfillment. 

Some of the areas in which Alison has training and experience (and in which she continues to study) include Co-active Coaching, Integral Coaching, Solution Focused Therapy & Coaching, Process-Orientated Therapy & Coaching (also known as Process Work), Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Trauma Therapy, Psychoneuroimmunology (the link between stress and disease), Family Constellations, Structural Constellations, Imago Couples Therapy, Appreciative Inquiry, Thinking Environment Work (Nancy Kline), Group Process Facilitation for Decision-Making & Conflict Resolution, Deep Democracy and Biodanza. She has a special interest in psychological applications of insights from quantum physics, such as field theory. 

Where applicable, Alison works in partnership with other service providers to provide high-quality, integrated facilitation, training, coaching and health solutions.

In her leisure time Alison enjoys watching movies, listening to music, dancing and yoga.
